Potato Planting at the Howell Living History Farm.
The Howell Living History Farm (Mercer County Park Commission) was started by RPCV Pete Watson. Every year, the RPCV-NJ group meets at the farm to participate in potato planing (in April) and harvesting (in the Fall).
Looking for an easy way to meet RPCVs, get outside *and* benefit local soup kitchens? Join us on April 28th. Planting goes from 11:00-3:00, but you can come when you want and stay how long you want. Meeting time for the group: TBA. Bring the kids! Play in the dirt!
Annual Board Meeting: March 24, 2012.
The group elected a new board! We met some newly returned volunteers and some RPCVs from the first groups to depart in 1961. Nancie Gunkleman displayed part of the photographic exhibition she has curated and shown all over New Jersey for the last year. Rowland Bennett gave us his account of lobbying on Capitol Hill for the Peace Corps through the NPCA.
The RCPV group sincerely thanks Gerry Gillio for her many years of service as president/co-president of the group! Gerry has kept the group going, graciously hosted numerous activites and events at her residence throughout the years.
