50th Anniversary Celebration Events: Call for Photos

Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of New Jersey announces three photo exhibits to be held during 2011.
These exhibits will take place at the following venues:
            × January: The Plainsboro Library
× March: The Strand Theatre and Georgian Court University (Lakewood)
× May or June: The Howell Living Farm
The exhibit will be juried due to limited space and resources.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Sept. 10, 2010
Submit matte or glossy 8’’x10’’ (unframed and un-matted) photo(s ) .
Print size must be 8’’x10’’. You can make enlargements yourself via computer or by going to chain stores (e.g. CVS, Riteaid, Wal-Mart, etc.) and using their instant photo machines with print-to-print capability (around $7.00).
If you have slides, photo labs (even online ones) can make 8’’x10’’ prints for about $6.00 each.  Since the dimensions are different, be sure to instruct them on the cropping (what part may be cut off without effecting the content or composition).
Please use cardboard or a padded envelop to protect photo(s).  Include a self-addressed stamped envelop (folded) inside to have photo returned after exhibits.
Accompany all entries with the following info:
            × Title of photo
            × Your name
            × Country of service
            × Date (optional)
× Explanation of photo (if informative)

Calling all RPCVs and current Volunteers!

Peace Corps invites you to contribute to our digital library-a searchable collection of photos, stories and documents about Peace Corps, the Volunteer experience, and the agency's legacy of service around the globe.

As we approach Peace Corps' 50th anniversary, please help us reach our goal of including photos and stories from each country where Volunteers have served, and from each decade of Peace Corps history.  You can contribute one story and up to five photos from your Peace Corps service using our online process.

Interested?  Go to peacecorps.gov/collections to start your submission or browse the growing collection of materials.
